Dear Gordians, Dear Visitors,
Our village of Gordes is proud to count three jewels: the castle in the centre of the village, the village des Bories which combines a museum of traditional rural life with its strange rounded constructions in dry stones, the Sénanque Abbey enclosed in its green valley...
But its heritage does not stop there and many unique places and other historical monuments add additional qualities to our area: the moulin (mill) des Bouillons, the Glass and Stained-Glass Museum, the Cellars of Saint Firmin Palace... Gordes is a hospitable place where art emerges, always welcoming artists and their creativity: André Lhote, Marc Chagall, Jean Deyrolle, Victor Vasarely, Pol Mara, Jean Degottex, Poliakoff...
We have become a major tourist destination because of our history, our exceptional geographical location, our quality cultural activities and the reputation of our restaurants and hotels.
The municipality of Gordes rigorously defends its heritage so that its success does not alter it in any way: it remains authentic by preserving its Provençal traditions, it looks to the future while remaining itself.
Welcome to Gordes!
